First Waves Beaver County - Earth Week Student Summit
In Partnership with the Watersmith Guild, BCMAC, TRAILS, and the Beaver Falls Film Festival
The First Waves Beaver County Earth Week Summit is an environmental education initiative designed to empower Beaver County youth through citizen science, community environmentalism, and storytelling exploration.
Presented in partnership with Beaver County Marcellus Awareness Community (BCMAC), the Summit engages students in interactive workshops centered on local air and water quality, environmental health, and environmental justice. Students will learn how environmental data is collected, how environmental decisions are made, and how youth voices can contribute to positive change.
The Summit emphasizes storytelling as a pathway, introducing students to how environmental issues are communicated through film, media, and creative expression. The week culminates with a connection to the Beaver Falls Film Festival, where students and the public can experience environmental and community storytelling as inspiration.
This program is designed to inspire curiosity, build environmental knowledge, and create pathways for ongoing involvement with First Waves and BCMAC beyond Earth Week.
