Ground swell Hazelwood
ABOUT the PROJECT
Ground Swell Hazelwood is a cross-generational program designed to connect residents of the Hazelwood community with their waterways while empowering them as stewards and advocates.
Participants and families will explore regional and local waterways, engage in hands-on conservation and citizen science activities, and create digital media projects that tell the story of their experiences. The program will emphasize removing stigma around waterway usage, increasing equitable access to water-based recreation, and empowering participants to inspire long-term cultural and environmental change.

The Mon Water Project
The Mon Water Project (MWP) and its Coalition’s mission is to conserve, restore, enjoy, and protect the neighborhood’s tributary waters to the Monongahela River. They educate and activate individuals as they plan, partner, and build science-based solutions across the watershed. The Watersmith Guild and MWP will be working together to fortify this mission by bringing Ground Swell to the Monongahela River watershed!
